3 Spring Outfits I’m Swooning Over

I know I shouldn’t even bother using spring approaching as an excuse to window shop (especially during lent!) since spring is basically no different than winter here and it’s been constantly in the 70’s for a few weeks now. Anyway, I’m still loosely capsuling┬ábut have chilled back with counting pieces and being more rigid because I’ve gotten the hang of it pretty well. Daniel and I KonMari our house on the regular so we don’t have that issue of hoarding too much, which I need to give 100% credit to Daniel who taught me to not be so sentimental over things. Like I remember he wrote me this heartfelt introduction for a project during senior year of high school and a month later once we started dating I asked him for a copy and he was like, “I deleted it. We don’t need it. You remember how it made you feel.”. See, I basically live with Marie Kondo. (psssst, I still wish I had it…)

ANYWAY, I still have probably 75% of my capsule from last year so I could use a couple refresher pieces since prior to last year, my clothes had been pretty dated and lower quality so they wouldn’t last very long. Let’s look at the first outfit:

Movint Carra Romper

The Anais Thong Slide Sandal in Spot Dot

My body type isn’t the easiest to shop for. It’s basically curvy, athletic, petite all mushed together (such a lovely way to phrase it for my 19 month postpartum self…), so pretty much shopping isn’t very fun. But! Rompers usually look alright on me (and are comfyyyy), so that plus the u-neck plus the buttons down the front plus the yellow sweater make it dreamy for me. I’d love to see these pieces in person, but I’m 99% sure I’m going to end up with these shoes. I’ve been eyeing them for a while and they’ve been sitting in my madewell shopping cart for at least a month so…

10″ High Riser Skinny Skinny Jeans in Rosedale

Women’s Birkenstock Arizona

When I think of me chilling in heaven for eternity, I’d want to be wearing this exact outfit. Yes it’s very trendy. Yes it’ very cool mom standard, but I honestly am going to make this outfit a reality in my closet. It’s my most favorite dream pairing yet. And it’s completely realistic to my body type and day-to-day wearability.

Jean Vest in Cora Wash

Maeve Striped Maxi Dress

Latigo Lola Clogs Black 9 Wedges

Okay, I’ll be completely honest because I think this one may be a stretch because maxi dresses and vests that highlight my arms usually aren’t winners for me, but it has potential to work! It’s all just so, so cute. Plus I’ve been on the search for a pair of clogs and these fit exactly what I’ve wanted. I can picture myself wearing this at Atlas and Ollie’s pinterest perfect birthday parties, with a perfectly decorated cake I baked from scratch surrounded by $100 worth of decorations, and the kids peacefully playing a party game in our backyard. lololol, but I could be wearing this.

So what do you guys think? Anything I should stop swooning over? Anything I should swoon over instead??

Lay it on me.

Oooo I love the peasant top!!! I keep meaning to buy one every year and then I can never find one that fits my impossible standards of not looking weird and being inexpensive enough to justify it… That Madewell one is gorgeous.

Cute, cute! That yellow cardi is beautiful. I love the romper but have been so afraid to try one myself. I’m in the petite, baby having hips category and I feel it would shorten me even more.
Love the Birks. they are also on my summer shoe list this year.

My favorite is that dress though! <3

I was saying to my friend that I don’t really know if rompers are particularly flattering on me, it’s just the comfort outweighs the frumpiness in my eyes, hahah.

I absolutely love all the outfits, but just cannot justify the prices? I guess I don’t capsule and if you do, you can because you only have select pieces. The dress especially I love (surprise, Anthro) but too $$$. The peasant top is awesome!

I only buy a small handful of clothes a year and almost always will only will purchase if it’s on sale. So I know without a doubt I won’t be getting all these, but I may end up with one or two pieces. :)
